Bod Brief: International Center of Topeka hosts Nepalese cultural event

The International Center of Topeka, Inc. and Nepali students at Washburn will host “Naturalistic Nepal” on April 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event highlights the Nepalese culture and gives attendees the opportunity to experience Nepall first hand.

The event includes talks about Nepal, Nepali student cultural tables, Nepali food sampling and a Nepali Pooja. A Pooja is a traditional  Hindu prayer ritual that is often performed at events and celebrates the presence of special guests to the event.

The international Center of Topeka, Inc was founded in 1980 and serves as a connection between the Topeka community and students at Washburn, especially international students. The organization is housed in the International House on the Washburn Campus.

“Naturalistic Nepal” will be held at the University United Methodist Church located at 1621 SW College Ave. The event is free to all guests.
