Bod brief: celebrate the fall graduates of 2021

Commencement will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17. More information for the different programs can be found in the brief.

Graduating students, get your caps and gowns ready because commencement is on Friday, Dec. 17.

The ceremonies will be held in Lee Arena in the Petro Allied Health Center.

For the College of Arts and Sciences, the ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday. Visitors are encouraged to be on time.

Following the first ceremony, the School of Applied Studies, School of Business, School of Nursing and School of Law will hold ceremonies at 7:30 p.m.

These ceremonies will be held in-person. Graduates, family and friends, keep an eye on the Washburn University website for updates and more information.

Washburn is proud to be able to congratulate and honor the upcoming graduates.

Hello, I'm Maggie Cabrera! I am a sophomore majoring in mass media with a concentration in journalism and I am minoring in leadership with an emphasis in business, communications, and the media. Currently, I am the Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Kaw Yearbook, but I do many other tasks for student media like writing stories, photography, and a little bit of design. I do a lot of work, so I am a very tired person. Napping is honestly one of my favorite hobbies. I am from a small town outside of Dodge City called Hugoton, about six hours away from Topeka. I am very involved at Washburn, from being in the leadership institute and being on their student leadership council to working for OSID, you can catch me on campus basically every day! I like to think of myself as a mediator because I love listening and hearing other people's opinions, which makes me hope that one day I will be great as a journalist.
