After knocking off the number one seed in the tournament, Washburn volleyball continued its tournament run with a 3-0 sweep of Concordia University, St. Paul Dec. 4. The win advanced the Ichabods into the NCAA National Championships for the second time in the last four seasons.

In the match senior middle hitter Allison Maxwell led the way with 14 kills and eight blocks while senior outside hitter Genna Berg joined her in double-digits with 11 kills of her own.

Senior setter Allison Sadler led the team with 39 assists, as Washburn hit .301% as a team. Defensively senior libero Faith Rottinghaus paced the team with 22 digs, leading a defensive effort that held the Golden Bears to just a .183 hitting percentage.

With the win the Ichabods move into the Elite Eight where they are seeded No. 3. They will travel to Tampa, Florida where they will face West Texas A&M in the Quarterfinals at 11 a.m. central time Dec. 9.

The match will be streamed on the NCAA website as well as shown at several locations locally.
