2014 Homecoming Parade

  • Soon-to-be Homecoming King Alex Crume, math education major, and Queen Carly Willis, senior mass media, wave to parade watchers on MacVicar Avenue.

  • Homecoming candidates Jordan McDowell and Garret Fenley enjoy riding in the 2013 Homecoming Parade.

  • 2013 Homecoming Queen Bonnie McKee and Derek Fritz come back to campus to crown the new king and queen.

  • Many student organizations participate in the parade. The International Club marched with flags from their countries.

  • The Kappa Sigma and Alpha Phi float feature a caged Griffon while the Ichabod scores a touchdown.

  • Washburn Technical School’s float showcases a fully functioning robotic boxing Ichabod.

  • The Washburn University Marching Blues lead the parade down MacVicar Avenue.

  • Washburn University President Jerry Farley throws candy to bystanders along the parade route.

The 2014 Washburn University Homecoming Parade began at 19th and MacVicar and traveled down 17th Street to Washburn Avenue, coming back on campus south of Stouffer Hall. The parade flowed in front of Petro Allied Health, the SRWC and Art Building before concluding north of KTWU. Many students and organizations participated along with several local politicians.
