Topeka, Kan. Washburn University School of Law’s Law Clinic will be offering a Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic THIS Saturday March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Law School.

The event will focus on providing free wills, living wills, and durable powers of attorney for veterans and other service-connected individuals living in Kansas.

The Clinic will be staffed by Washburn Law students who will be working pro bono under the close supervision of faculty. After the initial screening, upper-level Law Clinic interns, who have been certified by the Kansas Supreme Court to be legal interns, will meet with the clients and complete the process.

Washburn Law is honored to offer the Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic,” said Dean Thomas J. Romig, who retired as a Major General in the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 2005 after 34 years of service. “We want to do our part to help address the continuing need in the veteran and military community for wills, living wills, and durable powers of attorney.

Veterans and their families are asked to bring proof of military connection and must meet financial eligibility requirements. Please call 785.670.1191 for questions about eligibility.
