Following a 3-1 victory in round one Washburn volleyball followed suit with another 3-1 victory in the semifinals of the NCAA Central Region Championships. This time it was the number one overall ranked Central Missouri Jennies, who were defeated by the fifth-seeded Ichabods.

Senior outside hitter Genna Berg led the team in kills again with 19 while senior middle hitter Kelsey Gordon and freshman outside hitter Jalyn Stevenson each added 10 kills.

Senior setter Allison Sadler had a huge day, picking up 47 assists in the match and adding 19 digs, one shy of a career-high. In the back row, senior libero Faith Rottinghaus collected 27 digs for the second straight match.

Washburn moves on to face the seventh seed, Concordia University, St. Paul, who won 3-2 in the semifinals.

The match will take place in Warrensburg, Missouri at 7 p.m. Dec. 4. It will be streamed live at the MIAA network and will be available to watch at Johnny’s Tavern Topeka, The Pennant and Skinny’s Sports Bar & Grill.
