Photo Gallery: Washburn women’s soccer season opener

  • Win the Race: Washburn’s junior defender Olivia Harriger defending her goal as she is racing William Jewell to the ball. Harriger played the whole 90 minutes of the game in the 2nd.

  • Ichabod strong: Washburn’s Taylor Bockover driving the ball down the field toward the Cardinals goal. Bockover speeds past the defense with determination in her stride.

  • Go hard or go home: Charlie Taylor sending the ball down the field during Sept. 2nd game against William Jewell. Taylor is a midfielder for the Ichabods.

  • I got this: Washburn’s Emily Munyer stopping the ball from going out. Munyer was too fast for the William Jewell Cardinals to keep up with her during Sept. 2nd game.

  • Defend until the end: Washburn’s Emily Michaelis head butting the ball back into Washburn’s possession. Michaelis didn’t let anyone get the ball past her.

  • Header: Khloe Schuckman leaping up to head butt the ball to another teammate. Schuckman had a total of 3 shots on the goal during Sept. 2nd game against William Jewell.

  • Sportsmanship: Tera Lynch getting help from a William Jewell player when Lynch got knocked down. You can really tell how much Lynch loves this game with how hard she plays.

  • Chest trap: Washburn’s Khloe Schuckman using her chest to stop the ball and keep possession for the Ichabods. Schuckman showed no fear against William Jewell’s defense.

  • No limits: Tera Lynch rushing the ball down the field to get in goal range. Lynch had a total of 3 shots on goal during Sept. 2nd game.

  • In it to win it: Ichabod Tera Lynch celebrating after kicking the ball past the Cardinals goalie. Lynch’s goal secured the win for Washburn.

  • Front Header: As William Jewell rushed to get the ball, defender Olivia Harriger used her head to control the ball to the ground so she could get it to her team.

  • Using Your Head: Washburn’s junior defender Jaedyn Johnson jumping against William Jewell to see who can use their head and pass the ball to their team.

  • Goalie Kick: Sophomore goalie Raegen Wells powering up to kick the ball to her team down the field, getting the ball away from her goal.

  • Power Kick: Defender Carlee Thompson kicking the ball so it is able to get across the field closer to the goal they were shooting on.

  • Fastest Wins: Washburn’s junior defender Mattie Miano sprinting to the ball as it rolls in front of William Jewell’s player, eventually getting to it.

  • Juggling: Washburn’s freshman midfielder Makenzie Menke stopping the ball with the top of her thigh. This season she has attempted one shot on the goal.

  • Getting There: Washburn’s freshman midfielder Viviana Soto-Herrera trying to beat William Jewell to the ball.

  • Sliding In: Carlee Thompson sliding her way to the ballot get it away from William Jewell and eventually getting the pass to her teammates.
