The Washburn Playfair: This event is a way for students to meet one another and form strong relationships at the beginning of the semester.

Washburn University is hosting a large event for the sake of recreation and wellness and it’s called Washburn Playfair.
The Playfair will begin at 6 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Washburn Indoor Athletics Facility.
The event is meant to be an ‘icebreaker’ for students so that they can meet with other students easily.
“We get students moving to meet other students without any awkward questions,” said Carissa Johnson, the Director of Student Transition and Family Engagement.
The Playfair includes an entertainer to help get students to relax and get into the spirit of the event by sharing stories about themselves.
Students will organize each other based on things like their preferences, their birthdays and much more.
