Bod Brief: poet laureate Huascar Medina coming to TPL

A Way with Words: Huascar Medina is an accomplished writer and poet. People will have a rare opportunity to interact with him this week.

Poet Laureate Huascar Medina will be speaking at the Topeka Public Library (TPL) on Thursday, April 8 from 7 to 8 pm.

Medina is the 2019-2021 Poet Laureate of Kansas. He is a poet, writer and performer who lives in Topeka and is currently working as a freelance copywriter.

He is also the Literary Editor for seveneightfive magazine, publishing stories that spotlight literary and artistic events in northeast Kansas. His poems can be found in his collection “How to Hang the Moon” published by Spartan Press.

On April 8, Medina will talk about how he uses poetry to help us find our voices, share our words and discover what truly connects us.
