Brief: Black History 101 Mobile Museum on campus Feb. 18

The Black History 101 Mobile Museum is set to come to campus Feb. 18 as one of the events Washburn is hosting to commemorate Black History Month. The Black History 101 Mobile Museum will feature more than 10,000 artifacts of memorabilia dating from the trans-Atlantic slave trade era to hip-hop culture.

You can find the mobile museum at the Rita Blitt Museum on campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a Q&A session from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to the Black History 101 Mobile Museum, Black History Month Art for Thought will continue in Memorial Union through Feb. 28.

Harriet Washington, author of “A Terrible Thing to Waste: Environmental Racism and Its Assault on the American Mind,” will present a virtual lecture and panel discussion from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 18.
