Ichabods keep improving their marks: 1 NCAA Provisional mark added
On April 10, the Washburn Track and Field team traveled to Wichita, KS with a small group to compete at the Wichita State Open. After this meet, the Ichabods are a NCAA provisional mark and school record richer.
Peyton Lane improved his own school record, previously shared with Zac Chandler, to 4.87m (15′ 11.75″), he earned a NCAA provisional mark with that height as well. This mark brings Lane to number 25 on the national list.
Sierra Mortensen got second in the 3000m steeple chase in a time of 11:04.58, bringing her close to her own school record and a NCAA provisional mark.
So far this outdoor season, the Ichabods have set 10 NCAA Provisional marks. The first NCAA Automatic Qualifying mark is yet to come. To view the list of Ichabods with a provisional mark, click here.
Two more meets are planned before the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 7-9. Next up is the KT Woodman Classic, April 17, in Wichita, KS.
