Ellrich oversees and runs all practices of The Dancing Blues three to four times a week for a total of 9 to 11 hours. The national routine was performed by the dancer who made the Dancing Blues audition in May 2023.

The first part of the showcase was dancing with pom poms in the Washburn dancing uniform. The Dancing Blues used to wear this uniform during their first home game performance at the start of the football season.

The rewards for the championship were jackets, rings, banners and trophies. During the national competition preparation, the Dancing Blues also hosted the clinic so that future Dancing Blues members would perform well for the 2024-2025 audition.

The DTU College Classic is held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The competition included dance, cheer, mascots and coaches.

Participants learned elements and technical skills that will be performed at auditions for the 2024-2025 WU Dancing Blues. Dancers who want to attend Dancing Blues 2024-2025 have to join at least one of the Clinics March 3 and March 29.

Besides the dance movement, the Dancing Blues are required to show the best of their tricks, jumps and tumbles. After a performance, the dance team changed their outfit for the next section.

Putting on the costumes and performing for an audience is the best way for the dance team to replicate the actual competition day. Ellrich wanted her team to be as prepared as possible when they got to Florida, and this showcase helped the team.
