The Spring Show and Sale happens every semester, so customers can always see new creative products. Most of the artists in the show are Washburn seniors who already have their senior exhibition in the museum.

The Washburn Art Club Spring Show and Sale is celebrated in the Washburn A room of Memorial Union March 1 from 1-5 p.m. The WAC artists sold their own creative artwork, such as paintings, ceramics, stickers, etc.
-
Every product has a price tag that people can easily choose. Customers who were interested in the artwork took a tour around the event and then paid for them at the cashier’s table.
-
Visitors can buy paintings of famous anime, movies and also characters created by WAC artists Evan Haverkamp, sophomore Art Education. Customers paid for the artwork with only cash.
-
WAC collects the artworks during the semester to see if they are enough items to sell. The club connected with Washburn University to schedule the show about the place, time and set up for selling students’ artworks in their classes or in their own time.
-
Most of the art students stay in the art department the entire time to complete their artwork in the studio. The tiny ceramic artworks had high-quality details.
-
Connie Sowles, sophomore general studio art and member of Washburn Art Club, helps with organizing the sale event. Sowles shared that the art museum is her main career focus.
-
Sowles likes symbolism and uses her own style to show her perspective. Her artwork conveys a colorful and aesthetic vibe.
-
Julisa Medina Del Real, senior graphic design major, introduces her artwork to the audience as the “Jolly Jars”, which could be both useful in decoration and household equipment. The inspiration behind her artwork came from the Mexican holiday, “Día de Los Muertos,” which translates to the “Day of the Dead.”
-
This event is a fundraising opportunity for the Art Club. Art students got to showcase their art out and introduce their art style to the community.
