In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the Office of Student Involvement and Development provides cookies and cards. The small event was hosted in the Memorial Union from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The attendants make their cookies based on how sweet they want with strawberry cream and sprinkles. This was a gift that OSID gave to everyone belonging to Washburn University.
-
Jadyn Nachtman, a senior elementary education major, is a worker for OSID and ran the event alone with only half an hour of preparation. Nachtman expected to have 15 people attend, but the result was beyond her expectations.

Participants make their own handwritten cards and letter designs with the theme of Valentine’s Day. There were people of different ages with students and faculty interested in making gifts for their friends.
-
Besides the handmade gifts, the people also receive gifts with the crystal cup. The cup also included a message from OSID.
-
Students who attend make as many cards as they want. They customized their cards with stickers, colored pens and highlights.
-
Washburn students can also invite friends to decorate Valentine’s cards and letters together. The workshop and cookies both attracted audiences who went through the Memorial Union.

Valentine’s Day is not only about romantic love, it is also an occasion to make people feel loved and cared for. The goal of the event was to help students feel loved across campus, and these activities did just that.
