Presidential campaign teams were announced at the Feb. 8 WSGA all-senate meeting.
Antonio Martinez, sophomore respiratory therapy major, announced his campaign for presidency. Tevin Asamoah, a junior biology and philosophy major, will run alongside Martinez as vice president.
Martinez and Asamoah introduced the acronym B.U.I.L.D., which stands for belonging, unity, inclusion, listening and development. B.U.I.L.D. represents the steps they will take in optimizing and expanding current programs and systems at Washburn. During their administration, they hope to create an inclusive, accessible and collaborative community at Washburn.
WSGA heard funding requests from the chemistry club, bowling club, Washburn University Annual Pageants and Alpha Phi. Alpha Phi requested funding for their upcoming Philanthropy Week supporting women’s heart health.
