WU Jazz Ensembles to hold concert Oct 13

Washburn jazz students perform on White Concert Hall’s stage in this archive photo. Craig Treinen, music department chair and director of jazz, was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2015.

Jazz students in the Music Department will perform their first concert of the year Thursday, Oct.13, at White Concert Hall.

Featured performances will be by the Washburn Jazz Orchestra, the Jazz Concert Orchestra and the student jazz combo. They will start performing at 7:30 p.m.

Craig Treinen, department chair and director of jazz studies, will host the show, which is expected to last an hour.

The concert is free and open to the public. White Concert Hall is located at 1700 SW Jewell Ave. and parking is available west of the building.
