The Washburn Filmmakers Association is raising money for its feature-length horror film.

Student members of the Washburn Filmmakers Association have been busy creating a pitch and making plans to produce a long-term feature-length horror film.

The feature was pitched by mass media junior Adin Replogle who said his film has the aesthetic of Polar Express, and that, he was inspired by films such as “Cocoa.” Replogle, who will also direct the film, has created a fantastical world where a young man wakes up on the train to the underworld and must convince the occupants that he is still alive before it is too late.

While filming for “Never Fear the Night” is not expected to begin until November of 2023, there is still much to prepare.

As the film takes place on a train, it has presented several challenges, including funding.

“It is cheaper to build a train than to film on a train,” said Anna Fifer, president of WFA and the film’s producer. Fifer, who helped complete the short “Peep Hole,” is confident in the project.

Students who are interested in learning more about the filmmaking process are encouraged to participate.

For those who would like to help support the funding of the 2023 WFA horror film, they can donate through the gofundme page: “Never Fear The Night”
