With the expectations of the formation of a mild hydration layer, Keetan Munsell presents his data at Apeiron on the role of Single Amino Acid Substitutions in Halophilic Organisms. He presented his research, “Analysis of the Role of Single Amino Acid Substitutions in the Stability of Lactate Dehydrogenase in Halophilic Organism,” April 22.

They presented their research, “The Venerable Henriette DeLille: A Free Woman of Color in New Orleans on the path to Sainthood’ and ‘Female Resistance Fighters of WWII,” April 22

Travis Gardenhire explains how power and conflict play a role in communication as it relates to social issues. His presentation, “Are Communication Issues at the Core of Social Problems?” took place April 22.

Dy-Esha Risby and Brailey Moeder with their partner, Mara Coufal, discuss the discovery of a mostly complete skeleton at an archaeological site that was excavated at Museum Creek. Their presentation, “Truth in Bioarchaeology” took place April 22.

Presenting data on whether the larval environment could influence the behavior of C. maculatus, Khue Nguyen explains the results of C. maculatus being raised in two different host environments. Nguyen presented her research, “Influence of Larval Environment on the Dispersal Behavior of Adult Cowpea Weevils, Callosobruchus maculatus,” April 22.

Jaelen Matthews discusses her data and method. Matthews evaluated different DNA extraction methods for saliva from the Ornate Box Turtle in determining the origins of confiscated turtles in her poster. Her poster, “Comparing DNA Extraction Success Rates from Ornate Box Turtle (Terrapene ornata ornata) Mouth Swabs,” was presented April 22.

Aspired to become a self-published author, Mikaela Miller signs her book “Disappearance of You,” and explains the process of her novel. Miller gave away her books with the hope of getting feedback.

Halla Whitlock presents her article as it explores a different type of psychological trauma and associated intervention and how different interventions impacted the individuals. Whitlock interned at the Family Service and Guidance Center Crisis Building, which provided basis for her poster.

Identifying the effects of using qualified language assistive services on patient outcomes, Francisca Rodriguez-Bolanos discusses the benefits of having professional translation services in hospitals. Her poster, “Effect of Using Qualified Language Assistive Services on Patient Outcomes,” was presented during Apeiron April 22.

Kyle Manthe discusses the results of students gathered in relation to Freedom of the Press. The poster, “Understanding Freedom of the Student Press,” was presented during Apeiron April 22.

Alexis Gaudreau presents her topic, “Classroom 2 Community: Reflections and Analyses.” Being a part of Classroom 2 Community was an integrated effort between multiple educational units and discussing multiple topics.

In front of an audience, Professor Emeritus of English, Thomas Averill presents “Writing Lessons from Mt. Hope Cemetery.” Averill worked several summers in his youth at a cemetery, where he applied much of his experiences to his writing.
