GALLERY: Washburn women push through at FHSU Tiger Open

  • Steady: Sophomore Megan Miller tries to control her legs while going down a steep hill. Miller will finish with a time of 20:35.

  • Strength in numbers: Luz Lopez-Gonzalez, Dulce Ayala Chanez, and Eve Weber work as a team as a team to stay ahead of the competition. the girls will help the team to a seventh place finish of 139 points.

  • In traffic: Junior Luz Lopez-Gonzalez and freshman Eve Weber navigate though a group of opponents on Oct.9, 2021. Lopez-Gonzalez and Weber will finish in 83rd and 81st respectively.

  • Good spirits: The Women’s team pose for a photo after their successful run at Victoria on Oct. 9th 2021. The women’s team earned 7th place as a team with 140 points.

  • Round the curve: Verena Vesely and Kelsie Dent race to keep their positions. Vesely and Dent will finish in 86th and 97th place respectively.

  • In the grass: Freshman Keely Wagner runs through the field while trying to close the gap between her and opponents. Wagner finished the race with a time of 21:22.

  • Finishing strides: Junior Avery Hoffpauir sprints to the finish trying to take just one more place. Hoffpauir finished in 78th place out of over 170 runners.

  • Push it: Tessa Jeffery races to maintain her position. Jeffery finishes with a time of 20:45

  • Born to run: Stacy Brigs, Ela Cozine, and Keely Wagner run as a team sticking together. the girl helped the team reach seventh place.

  • Finishing strong: Dulce Ayala Chanez sprints to the finish trying to maintain her place. Chanez finished in 75th place earning 60 points for the team.

  • Catch me if you can: Elsa Cozine sprints to the finish trying to take just one more place. Cozine will finish with a time of 20:27

  • Everyday I’m hustlin’:Sierra Mortensen fights for another position. Mortensen will finish in 4th place earning 4 points for the team.

  • Keeping up with the pack: Lily Johnson fights to gain a place. Johnson will finish in 16th place earning 15 points for the team.

  • Team Ichabod: Elsa Cozine and Stacy Briggs compete together to earn another place. Cozine and Briggs will finish with a time of 20:27 and 20:39 respectively.

  • In it to win it: Keely Wagner races to keep her position. Wagner will finish her race with a time of 21:22.

  • Loose legs: Freshman Olivia Southby warms up before an exhausting race on Oct. 9, 2021. The women’s team finished in seventh out of 17 teams in the meet.

  • Get together: The women’s team huddle and shout, “not for our selves alone. Ichabod’s!” on Oct. 9, 2021. The team will finish with a total of 140 points.

  • Ichabod strong: Patricia Koma lengthens her stride while going down then hill. Koma Will finish in 9th place earning 9 points for the team.

  • Leading the pack: Katharina Goetschl races down the hill trying to maintain her lead. Goetschl will finish in 61st place earning 51 points for her team.

  • Warm up: The team gets a few runouts in before the start of the race on Oct. 9, 2021. The team will finish in seventh out of 17 teams in the meet.

  • Out the gates: The women’s team begins its race as the cannon goes off on Oct. 9, 2021. The Women will finish in seventh place with 140 points.

  • Live. Love. Run: Kelsie Dent and Megan Allacher try to stay upright while going downhill. Dent and Allacher will finish in 97th and 99th respectively.

  • Downhill stride: Verena Vesely races her opponent down a steep hill. Vesely will finish with a time of 19:54

  • Making the turn: Junior Lily Johnson runs ahead of the pack on Oct. 9, 2021. Johnson will finish in 16th place scoring 15 points for her team.

  • In front: Senior Sierra Mortensen is the first of many to the corner on Oct. 9, 2021. Mortensen will finish in 4th place with a time of 17:55
