Little event, big impact: Washburn is holding its Little Event to engage its students in volunteering for the community.

Washburn University is holding its community service event called the “Little Event”.
The event is meant to engage students in the community, with many different organizations taking part, and volunteer opportunities of all kinds being shown off during the Little Event.
“What this event is, is taking students to community partners, and we have tons of opportunities for them,” said Shayden Hanes, Director of Campus and Community Affairs.
Transportation will be provided for students volunteering and volunteers will be split between the community partners.
The Little Event begins at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28 at the Memorial Union.
