Men’s Basketball
After returning from the Las Vegas Hoopla, where they went 1-1, the Bods returned at 2 p.m. Sunday to face off against Avila University, where they came out on top winning 96-64. This game included six Ichabods scoring in double digits, with freshman forward Sevon Witt hitting a career-high 19 points against the Eagles. Senior guard, Javion Blake, also celebrated his 100th start out of the last 100 games as a Bod by scoring 11 points.
Women’s Basketball
With an outstanding performance in Vegas earlier in December, the Women’s team showed up at 2 p.m. this past Monday to Lee Arena to defeat University of Saint Mary 69-40. Thirteen Ichabods were able to put points on the board, including junior guard, Alexis McAfee, who slapped on a career-high 12 points and six assists against the Spires. Junior forward, Annette Warner, also had six rebounds, which set a team-high for the game.
To continue on their winter break escapade, the Bods will travel to Emporia Jan. 5. to face off against the Hornets with the women playing at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s game scheduled to follow at 7:30 p.m. This will be the only time that the Turnpike Tussle will take place on the schedule this basketball season.
