Brief: Softball secures undefeated weekend
Over the course of February 26-28, the Washburn University Softball team went a perfect 5-0 at the Washburn Invitational, held at Hummer Sports Park and Gahnstrom Field, moving their overall record on the season to 7-2.
Over the five games the team outscored their opponents 34-14, including a 13-0 win over McKendree University. Junior pitcher, Raegen Hamm, pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only 1 hit. Junior outfielder, Ashton Friend, also went a perfect 3-3 at the plate and knocked in four runs.
Next, the Ichabods traveled to Emporia on March 5, for the ESU Classic where they played five more games over the weekend.
