TOPEKA – Author Romi Chavez will read from his novel “El Vampiro and the Curse of the Feathered Serpent” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the lounge of the Mabee Library on the Washburn University campus. A book signing will follow. The public is welcome to attend the free event. A May 2009 graduate of Washburn, Chavez incorporates his interest in Mesoamerican culture in the story, which he describes as the origin for a new generation of vampires. The new book is the first in a trilogy planned by the author.
The event is sponsored by the multicultural office at Washburn.
