Washburn announces 2014 Homecoming Coloring Contest

Washburn University has launched a contest to help get people in the spirit of Homecoming Week.

According to a press release sent by the University Relations department, the Homecoming Coloring Contest is an opportunity for artists of all ages to unleash their creativity and make a one-of-a-kind “Ichabod Unleashed” homecoming logo.

Participants are divided by age into one of six categories – 4 years old and under; 5 to 8 years old; 9 to 11 years old; 12 to 14 years old; 15 to 18 years old; and 19 years old and over. Those interested in taking part can download the coloring contest image and rules at Washburn.edu/homecoming.

The contest runs from now until 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6. Submissions can be mailed Washburn University, Coloring Contest, 1700 SW College Ave., Topeka, KS 66621 or dropped off at the university relations office in Morgan Hall, room 119.

One winner will be chosen from each category and each winner will receive a $20 gift certificate from the Ichabod Shop. Entries will be judged age appropriately on neatness, creativity and originality. Winners will be announced the week of October 13 and posted at Washburn.edu/Homecoming.

Homecoming week runs from Oct. 13 – 20.
