TEDxTopeka, an independently organized TED Talk event, will take place next month at the Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy.

According to a press release, organizers of the event are currently accepting applications for speakers. Talks can be 5 – 7 or up to 18 minutes in length and will be filmed and posted on the TEDx YouTube channel. Interested parties can apply online by Wednesday, Oct. 8 at www.tedxtopeka.com/speak.

TEDxTopeka is an evening event being curated by a small group of Topekans with an audience of 100 people. The goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused and on a wide rage of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder-and to provoke conversations that matter.
