Brief: Documentary on climate change to be shown

Washburn’s sociology and anthropology clubs will be hosting a showing of the documentary “Before the Flood” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 17 in Henderson 100.
“Before the Flood” is a documentary by actor and activist Leonardo DiCaprio and was released on Oct. 21. In the documentary, DiCaprio meets with scientists, activists and world leaders on the drastic effects that climate change could have on us, as well as the possible solutions.
Following the screening, a discussion will take place lead by a panel of experts: Dr. Laura Murphy, assistant professor of anthropology, Dr. Chris Hamilton, professor of political science and Dr. Kellis Bayless, lecturer of biology. The discussion will be moderated by Paul Post of the Kansas Sierra Club, an environmental group.
The event is free and open to the public.
