Behind the decorated table, Archana Adhikari, representative of CAB gets ready to greet the students as carnations, cards and ribbons are set for the Valentine’s Day giveaway. The setup of the event included flowers, tags and Valentine’s decorations organized by Washburn’s campus activities board .

The event happens right across icard office in the Union on Feb. 12. It was held from 11-1 p.m.

Student Involvement and Development manager, Kristina Hernandez, is tying ribbons on carnations and preparing materials on the table. Students were not yet in the room when event volunteers prepared the space for the campus giveaway.

Students gather around the decorated table as a participant chooses a flower and is about to attach a name tag, as CAB member greet guests at the event. The table was soon filled with the buzz of conversation as students chose carnations, inquired and participated in the flower giveaway on campus.

A red carnation is placed alongside a Valentine’s Day sign that tells students to write their own messages. The table was decorated with carnations, pens and Valentine’s cards to encourage students to stop and write messages as the carnations were given away.
