Washburn baseball loses first game of doubleheader 7-5

Rane Pfeifer, senior in business, throws the first pitch. He struck out the opposing team’s players in the top of the first.

Cal Watkins, junior in integrated studies, runs home. He scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first.

Trevor McCollum, sophomore in mass media, throws the ball to his teammate from center field. He caught the ball to get the opposing player out.

Blake Scott, sophomore in business, swings for the ball. He wasn’t able to get a hit while at bat.

Cale Savage, sophomore in kinesiology, slides back to first. He slid to be safe before the ball could get to the first baseman.

Pfeifer winds up the pitch in the top of the fourth. He only struck out one of the opposing players.

Scott catches the ball from the pitcher. He caught all of the pitcher’s strikeouts.

Trey Adams, junior in computer science, sets up for the ball. He hit the ball to the left and was able to get to first base.

Ike Book, sophomore in education, catches the ball in right field. He caught the ball to end the top of the sixth.

Andrew Paulsey, junior in business, hangs his head after striking out. The strike out ended the game with a score of 7-2.
