“Sisters of Different Mothers” by artists Shelly Bedsaul and Pam Sanders is an art exhibit in the Morris Art Gallery, located in the NOTO Arts Center, open Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. After being separated, Bedsaul and Sanders came together to create art that expresses the bond between them.

URGE shows support for the transgender community

Social problems are prevalent in many countries, regardless of their status in the world. Two Washburn professors provided insight on the social issues that currently affect our society, our communities and our state.

Social issues prove to have negative affects on Kansans

Washburn is located at 1700 SW College Ave. which is 35 minutes on foot from the closest grocery store making it difficulty for students to buy fresh foods. This is considered a food desert, where students have limited or no access to healthy foods.

The group performs their most challenging piece that led them to win the annual Kansas Percussive Arts Society Ensemble Competition, “The Whole Toy Laid Down” by Dave Hollinden. The song was published in the 1990s and it continues to be a daunting challenge for any group to put on.
