The Lady Blues softball team has its first home games of the year 1 p.m. Tuesday against Bethany College in a double-header.

“I’m excited to have a home game because we’re all so comfortable there,” said sophomore third baseman Tish Williams. “We know our field, and we know what works and what doesn’t. It will make us feel good knowing how the field plays and the strategy of the game.”

At 1 p.m. Friday William Jewell will come to Topeka for a doubleheader as well. In the final home game of the week, the Lady Blues get the conference season started with a doubleheader 1:30 p.m. Saturday against Fort Hays State.

“We really need to come out and beat them because they’re our first conference games,” said senior pitcher Kelly Swygert. “It would be really nice to start conference off well.”
