Washburn wins match at home 3-1, 25-16, 22-25, 25-25, 25-19
Fourth set-Washburn def. Northwest Missouri 25-19
The Lady Blues finished off the Bearcats in what proved to be another difficult set. The Lady Blues never led by more than four points at one time until they went on a four point run with three Mollie Lacy kills late in the set to put the team up 23-17. They’d go on to win, scoring seven of the last ten points.
Third set- Washburn def. Northwest Missouri 25-15
The Lady Blues got back on track in the first set never trailing to take a 2-1 set lead. Starting out the game by the score of 2-0, the Lady Blues had two streaks where they scored four straight points. Hillary Hughes had four kills for the Lady Blues in the third set while Ashley Shepard and Breanna Lewis had three kills apiece.
Second set- Northwest Missouri def. Washburn 25-22
The Bearcats came out in set two with a vengeance tying the up the set score at one apiece.
The game was close the entire well with the biggest deficit between the two teams being three points. Northwest pulled a 22-19 lead after scoring straight points that would hold for the victory.
The Lady Blues’ team attack percentage fell from .588 in the first set to .065 in the second set.
Shepard now leads the team in kills with nine while Hampson has 29 assists and Molly Smith has eight digs.
First set- Washburn def. Northwest 25-16
After one set, in Tuesday’s pink out game between Washburn and Northwest Missouri, the Lady Blues are up 1-0.
Washburn had no trouble with the Bearcats in the first set leading the whole game after being tied at one apiece.
Leading the Lady Blues in kills after one is Jessica Fey with seven followed by Ashley Shepard with six. Kate Hampson has 19 assists and Molly Smith leads the Lady Blues with five digs.
