Washburn football went to challenge the Emporia Hornets in their own nest this past Saturday Nov. 2, 2019. The Ichabods pulled out a win, 37-17, breaking a four-game losing streak.

The Ichabods won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball and on the first drive of 83 yards and 12 plays to put the first touchdown on the board. The Hornets did not take that lightly following it up with a scoring drive of their own. The Hornet drive only took two plays when Carlos Grace made a break away run for 70-yards and the touchdown. This tied the game up at 7-7. This was the last time that the Hornets would tie the Ichabods.

The Ichabods would end the first half 28-10. They came back to score another touchdown in the third quarter and a safety in the fourth, thus ending the football game at 37-17. This win snaps the three loss streak against the Hornets ending the four game losing streak that the Ichabods have suffered this season.
