Washburn University taking donations to assist with Joplin relief efforts

TOPEKA – Washburn University’s Learning in the Community (LinC) office is collecting specific items for shelters in Joplin, Mo. Items listed below may be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in Benton Hall, room 405. (The university will be closed on Monday, May 30.)

Items to donate:

Sterile adhesive bandages in assorted sizes, hypoallergenic adhesive tape, aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever, anti-diarrhea medication, antacid (for stomach upset), blankets or sleeping bag, pillows-pillow cases, toilet paper, soap, liquid detergent, feminine supplies, personal hygiene items-soap, towels, deodorant, shampoo, paper cups, plates and plastic utensils, flashlight and extra batteries, cell phone chargers, and trash bags.
