Ichabod’s head basketball coach, Bob Chipman began a series of basketball camps in Lee Arena this week.

There are two separate camp options that kids can be enrolled in, the Half Court Press or the Full Court Press.

Chipman’s Half Court Press camps are four days of 2 ½ hour sessions of basketball. Campers will learn basketball fundamentals such as shooting, ball handling, passing and defense. There are prize winning contests and two league games at the end of each session.

Half Court Press camp cost $80 for one session, $70 for two campers or for one camper to attend two sessions, $65 each to enroll three campers and or for one camper to go to three sessions. The following Half Court Press camp dates are still available to be enrolled in:

June 10-13

June 17-20 –9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Full Court Press camp is June 24 through June 27. It starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 4:30 p.m. Enrollment is at 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. the first day of camp. The cost is $200 and is for ages 8-17.

There will be daily competitive league games, an All-Star game and an award ceremony.

Staff members of each camp include Chipman, his assistant basketball coach, Ewan Auguste, as well as members of the men’s and women’s basketball teams. There are also special appearances from KU and K-State players.

Children who attend these camps will be individually evaluated by Chipman and his staff and will also get tips on how to improve. They will be grouped together by age and skill level. They will receive a camp t-shirt and basketball.

Family and friends are invited to come watch anytime.
