Week Without Violence Poetry Speak-Out

Washburn University students, staff, faculty, administration and the greater Topeka community are welcome to join the Center for Safety and Empowerment – YWCA Northeast Kansas, in conjunction with Washburn University professor and author Dennis Etzel, Jr. and professor Dr. Jericho Hockett on Tuesday, October 19 from 1:30-2:30 PM in the Washburn University Union Underground for free pizza, cookies, soda, and poetry performances in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Week Without Violence.

WU Health Care Career Fair

This free event is a chance to build connections with employers that can help you now or in the future. Employers will offer a variety of part-time jobs, internships, and full-time positions. The career fair is open to all levels of students from all majors (not just seniors). Alumni and community members are also welcome to attend. No preregistration for attendees is required.

Come and learn about Dipawali, one of the most popular religious festivals in Nepal from our WU Nepali students and play cards, party, and sample Nepali foods (Gujar ko Halwa, Aloo Saadeko and Veg Fried Rice, Swets and Tokla tea).
