The Ichabod’s were on their way to claiming an easy victory in Thursday night game against Nebraska Kearney, until bad weather and a tornado warning postponed the game shortly after half time. After an hour and 37 minute delay, the officials postponed the game until Friday morning at 11 a.m.

The Ichabod’s started off with a phenomenal aerial attack going deep on the first play of the game with a 59 yard bomb from Derek McGinnis to Jordan Hart, giving the Ichabod’s a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

On the first defensive drive the Ichabod’s would show no weakness by forcing a fumble with 12:05 to go the first quarter by Alec Steuber.

After an Ichabod’s turnover coach Schurig’s offensive aerial attack continued to spiral into the end zone dissecting the Loopers secondary, with McGinnis finding Connor Crimmins in the corner of the end zone for a 14 yard touchdown pass advancing the Ichabod’s to 14-0 lead.

With the Ichabod’s up by two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Loopers would find their way into the end zone with a 46-yard touchdown pass from Bronson Marsh to Tityus Mitchell making score 14-7.

As the Ichabod’s returned on the field with a little over eight minutes to play in the second quarter, the offense would continue to showcase their gifted weapons with McGinnis throwing a 9 yard spiral floater to Bryce Chavis in the corner of the end zone giving the Ichabod’s a comfortable 21-7 lead before half time.

Akhmad Abdul-Razzaq leads the Ichabods with eight tackles with Spencer Matthews and Alec Steuber tied at seven.

The game will continue at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11. This story will be updated shortly after the game ends.
