The Aim and Toss Fundraiser event  Nov. 6, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. was an event for students to attend at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. 

There were two teams and each team had to pay $5 to play. Attendees also got a chance to win a prize after purchasing a ticket. There was free food and drinks as well.

Alexandra Venegas, junior psychology major, who organized this event, talked about the tournament. 

“This event is called the Aim and Toss Tournament. It’s a fundraising tournament. We allow two teams to compete against each other. We have cornhole and we have cup pong. Whoever wins the tournament will get a prize at the end. We also have a 50/50 raffle, so you pay $1 for the ticket. At the end, whatever we end up making, they get half of it,” Venegas said. 

Jordy Mosqueda, junior general business major and event organizer, shared the We Are F1rst involvement in the tournament.

“This is the Aim and Toss for the First Generation Organization. Basically, it’s a fundraiser, but also a cool event for first-gen students to come out. It’s an event where we play cup pong, but also corn hole. People get to compete for some gift baskets. We have a 50/50 raffle fundraiser. But it’s also to bring awareness to first-generation students, as this is national first-generation week,” Mosqueda said.

One of the attendees, Sweta Chhetri, freshman general business major, expressed her excitement about the event. 

“This event is really good. We get free food and drinks here. I’m loving and enjoying this environment,” Chhetri said.

The Aim and Toss Fundraiser was a fun event where students could play games, win prizes, enjoy free food, and support a good cause.
