TOPEKA – A fresh face in the Nashville scene, Megan Conner, named one of the top four finalists on “The Next Great American Country (GAC) Star,” will perform at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Washburn Room, Memorial Union, Washburn University. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the event is free and open to the public.

Conner was born in Greensboro, N.C. and raised in Granbury, Texas giving her, her country roots. As a teen, she indulged in riding horses, oversized belt buckles, spurs and country music. Post-graduation from Baylor University, Conner moved to New York City to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer. Once there, she found success in the fitness industry and became a nationally recognized fitness instructor. After only a few months in the city, Conner was discovered by songwriter and producer Paul Vance (“Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” and “Catch a Falling Star”), who helped her rekindle her love for country music. She moved to Nashville to continue her career as an artist and songwriter.
