On Thursday February 11, 2010 the Washburn University faculty voted on two major issues.

The first major issue was whether or not the university should make the Washburn Transformational Experience optional.

There were many concerns from the faculty on both sides of the proposal.

The faculty voted to make the WTE optional with the exception of anyone whose catalogue year began between Fall 2006 and Fall 2009.

The second issue concerned the PE 198 requirement. There have been previous issues with lack of transferability from other institutions and questions have also been raised about its benefits to students.

Some faculty presented their opinions on either keeping the requirement, or dropping it.

The faculty voted to keep the requirement for Washburn students.
