Topeka Community Concert Association presents Italian Saxophone Quartet

The Italian Saxophone Quartet will perform this Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in White Concert Hall. The concert will be the second of five concerts in the series to take place this year.
The Italian Saxophone Quartet, formed in 1982, is a four-person talented acclaimed ensemble who have come together to present their “perfection of style, timing and showmanship.” The quartet includes Federico Mondelci on soprano saxophone, Marco Gerboni on alto sax, Mario Marzi on tenor sax and Massimo Mazzoni on sax baritone. They are considered the four most established soloists in their field.
The members of the quartet have participated in adventurous partnerships, including performing “Outis” with the symphony Orchestra of Milan’s Teatro alla Scala and creating a new arrangement of J.S. Bach’s “Art of the Figure” with the Fonè String Quartet.
The Italian Saxophone Quartet has given more than 1,000 concerts in Germany, Italy, USA, Greece, France, Sweden, Japan, Lebanon and Russia.
Gary Johnson, president of Topeka Community Concert Association, through an agreement with the university, extends an invitation for all Washburn students to attend free of charge.
Admission is free to all Washburn students who bring a their student I.D. Those attending without membership may purchase single tickets for $35.
Nick Scott, Washburn brass student, attended The New York Brass Arts Trio concert Sunday evening, September 29 and found it re-inspiring and recommends brass students to attend these concerts.
Topeka Community Art Association supports the mission of the Helping Hands Society and wants to thank those in the community who rescues an animal in need by providing a free ticket vouchers for one concert of choice in the 2013-2014 Series. The offer is good until April 14, 2014 and available while supplies last.
