Topeka Community Cycle Project offers free bicycle commuting course
June 3, 2014
The Topeka Community Cycle Project is offering a traffic skills 101 course for local Topekans. This course is an adult riding course for all skill levels from those who haven’t ridden since childhood to those that ride recreationally or competitively. The class introduces safe ways to ride on Topeka’s streets with a variety of traffic.
This course also offers an introduction to different styles of bicycles, basic maintenance skills that can be helpful in being self sufficient with your bike and it offers an understanding of how to ride more efficiently using gears and mechanical advantages.
This course is a three-part class offered Monday nights from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 9, 16 and 23 at the TTCP at 423 S. Kansas Ave. (across from the post office downtown). The course is free, but participants are asked to bring their own bicycle and a helmet. If you don’t have a bicycle or if you have questions, contact TCCP at (785) 380-9827 or [email protected].
