WU Athletics to broadcast Royals game

Washburn Athletics will be showing the Kansas City Royals baseball game in Moore Bowl on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
The Kansas City Royals host the San Francisco Giants at Kauffman Stadium for game five of the World Series Tuesday night. Washburn Athletics has opened up Yager Stadium for fans to come and watch the game on the jumbo-tron scoreboard. The gates will open at 6:30 p.m. as the game is scheduled to start at 7:07.
Fans are encouraged to bring food and snacks to enjoy during the game however alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Inside Yager Stadium is a dry place on Washburn University’s campus. Any other drinks are welcomed. Blankets, pillows or any other item you may need is allowed inside the stadium, however please do not bring lawn chairs.
Washburn Athletics is asking for each fan to bring a can of food to support Washburn Student Government Association’s annual contest of the Can Emporia food drive. The goal is to get 30,000 cans this year so any and all donations are welcome.
Yager Stadium is located on Washburn Campus west of the Petro Allied Health building and north of the Student Recreation and Welness Center off Durrow Street. The Washburn Alumni Association is partnering with WU Athletics for this event.
