Success Week line-up is designed to help students cope with the stress of finals
Success week starts today. Hosted by the Washburn Student Government Association, there are activities lined up this week through next Monday.
Monday December 1—The movie Elf is playing in the Bradley Thompson Alumni Center. It runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Elf, if you haven’t seen it before, about an orphan named Buddy is adopted by Santa and the elves raise him.
When Buddy becomes a man, with all the problems that go along with being a full-sized adult among elves, problems arise. So Santa allows Buddy to go to New York to search for his real father. Hilarious from the beginning, watching with movie is sure to bring a smile and some laughter. Go see Elf for a success week stress decompressor.
Tuesday December 2—and every day during success week from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Study aids will be given out free on the main floor of the Student Union. Some of the items will be notecards, Post-it notes, highlighters and pens.
Wednesday December 3—Free massages will be held in the Mabee Library from 6p.m. until 8 p.m. Tips will be accepted but are not mandatory.
Wednesday December 4—There will be free pizza in the Mabee library beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday December 5—Dog Day of Finals is where the WSGA has partnered with the Humane Society to bring pets for students to play with and walk around in the Student Rec Center. This activity runs from 11a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday December 7—There will be free cupcakes and hot cocoa served in the Living Learning Center in the Blair room beginning at 7 p.m.
Sunday December 8—Pizza and energy drinks will be given out at the Mabee Library beginning at 7 p.m.
So get your freebies and de-stressors while you can. Finals week is here in 7 days and this is a fun way to start this week.
