Student Alumni Association seeks applicants for leadership board
February 26, 2015
Hello Washburn Student Organizations,
I am writing to let you know about efforts to revive the Student Alumni Association on our campus. While this group has been in existence for several years, it has not been active on campus. Our hope is to change that. Currently, our membership is around 225 members. The next major milestone that will be accomplished for the Student Alumni Association is to get a leadership board in place. We are looking for 3 student leaders on campus to fill the board positions of Vice President of Alumni Relations, Vice President of Legacy Recruitment, and Vice President of Campus and Community Relations. Each of these positions would be a great way to serve our campus and the community and would provide excellent opportunities to build a resume. We would very much appreciate it if you could mention these opportunities to your respective organization members. Attached is a copy of the leadership board application with an explanation of the application process and of the board positions. These can be returned to the Alumni Association office, Room 212 in the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center, or by email to [email protected] by Friday March 6 at 5:00 p.m. The application can also be found online here.
If anyone in your organization is interested in general membership in the Student Alumni Association, more information, can be found at the following link: Student Alumni Association
Membership is $10/year and entitles student members to attend the same events and receive the same benefits as regular alumni association members, including fun networking events throughout the year and well over 100 business discounts.
Any questions regarding the Student Alumni Association or the Student Alumni Leadership Board can be directed to Danny Funk, Assistant director of the Washburn University Alumni Association at: [email protected] or 785-670-1651.
