Washburn University Sustainability Network has arranged a free carpool matching service for you at Carpoolworld! We are very pleased to have you join us in commuting more efficiently and helping to save the natural environment while you save on your transportation expenses.
You may join the Washburn carpoolworld.com community for free by setting up a personal account at www.carpoolworld.com. You must have a valid e-mail address to register. When initiating your account, you are only required to enter the name of the city which you live in and zip code if you wish. Though you and other commuters will receive more accurate feedback regarding the mileage and proximity of your locations if you enter the street address of your house, it is up to you to offer that information. Users are not required to list their phone numbers.
Once you have created your account, you are free to search the site for other people who want to carpool. You may search for those who live close to you, who have similar schedules, or who have similar driving preferences.
If you are interested in carpooling with someone, simply send them an e-mail and begin to devise a schedule that is convenient for both of you. You both may decide to designate one day of the week to stop at the grocery store or run an errand. You are certainly not required to carpool every day of the week either!

View your matches and contact the other travelers by phone or email. Please review our guidelines on How to carpool.
A: Our system matches trips automatically using the trip origin and work/destination locations that you and the other travelers have provided. Our system logically selects the best potential matches in your area, and sorts them by the criteria you select. You should be able to contact the first few matches to follow up to see if you can arrange a carpool.
