Subject: [All Faculty & Staff] Mock Trial team enjoys success once again in Bearcat country
Colleagues:
This past weekend the “Trialin’ Bods” Mock Trial team began our season at the annual “Bearcat Invitational” hosted on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University. We faced our usual round of regional opponents, including teams from Creighton university, South Dakota State, the University of Central Missouri, Truman State, and several others. I’m incredibly pleased to report that our team took third place this weekend, losing to the A team from University of Central Missouri and a surprisingly adept team from Houston Baptist. Our team made me very proud, demonstrating a solid understanding of a challenging and (to be quite honest) somewhat confusing case problem this year. Our team members include veterans Cleotha Daniels, Katie McAfee, Bradford DeYoung, Jeffrey House, Peter Qui, and Natalie Walton, as well as novices Rose Hastings, Chase Pumford, and Nikki Rodriguez.
Up next for our squad is a competition in Omaha in mid-November on the campus of Creighton University. Until then, please join me in congratulating our incredible students.
