Richard Martin, Washburn professor, will be remembered

Richard T. Martin, age 73 of Topeka, died July 24, 2016. Born April 7, 1943 in Mullinville to loving parents, Richard and Juanita. He served his country in the Navy.
After graduating from Washburn University School of Law, he went on to teach at Webster College in south Florida. Afterwards, he returned to Topeka and began a professorship at Washburn University.
As a valued member of the School of Applied Studies, criminal justice and legal studies department, Richard had a great impact on his students. He made contributions to enrich many committees since began teaching at Washburn August 1993, including the SAS and Washburn’s local community at large.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly, of 25 years. As a beloved professor, husband, mentor and father, he will be greatly missed by his friends, family, colleagues and students.
