SPORTS BRIEF: Women’s soccer falls to Emporia, Fort Hays
On Oct. 28, Women’s soccer was matched against Emporia State. Right out of the gate, both teams struggled offensively, but the Ichabods ultimately lost 1-0.
Their loss did not come from lack of trying, as both teams attempted a combined 11 shots.
Before this match up, women’s soccer celebrated their five seniors: Kate Combs, Lexi Barton, Michelle Keleher, Sophia Sabala and Cadence Bourne.
On Oct. 30, women’s soccer put out a strong defensive start in their game against Fort Hays State University, but ultimately lost 3-0. This drops Washburn down to a score of 9-8-1 for the season and 5-6 for the MIAA record.
Coming up, Washburn will travel to Warrensburg, Missouri to face Central Missouri on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
