At 5 pm on Saturday, Jan 7, the Washburn Ichabods will travel to Emporia to challenge the Emporia State Hornets. This will be the first game away from home for the new year, and the Ichabods will hope to carry last year’s success over to the new year as well. Washburn has been playing very well as of late, and is looking to continue their current three-game winning streak against the Hornets. That’s easier said than done, as the Hornets have also found success this season, possessing an astounding record of 12-1. Chances for an Ichabod victory appear bleak, as the Hornets have an advantage of playing at home, where they are undefeated this season. However, if any team can defeat this juggernaut of a team, the Ichabods may be a perfect candidate to come away with a victory. As it turns out, this is definitely a game set to have plenty of excitement within it.
