Washburn Student Government Association announced two pairs running for the 2025-2026 presidential administration Wednesday, Feb. 5, after its weekly senate meeting.
Trevor Ottman, chief of staff, and Nick Lloyd, budget director, were the first candidates to speak. Ottman, running for president, plans to focus on giving students more opportunities to be engaged with both WSGA and other campus organizations. Ottman also plans to make WSGA a more public figure.
Lloyd, partnering as the vice president candidate, wants to build better relationships both within and beyond Washburn University. He also noted the importance of involvement and transparency within WSGA, and the duo intends to use these values to “bring Ichabods together.”

Kate Coulter, marketing director, and Ryan Durst, parliamentarian, are also running for president and vice president, respectively.
Though Coulter’s remarks were short, her excitement couldn’t be counted out. She spoke on her mission to ensure students are both welcomed and connected with the many clubs, organizations and opportunities campus has to offer.
Durst also spoke on the importance of welcoming students, ensuring they are felt, seen and heard. The pair’s utmost priority is to develop connections between students and the plethora of resources Washburn has to offer.
Campaigns will occur over the coming months and elections will be held in the latter half of the semester. For any questions, reach out to WSGA.
